MILES MILLAR on "SMALLVILLE" (Part 1 of 3)

EXCLUSIVE: In part one of a rare interview with Smallville co-creator/executive producer Miles Millar, he reflects on season six, reveals that fans are not the only ones who feel that either Green Arrow or the episode "Justice" should be spun off into their own series, and shares his feelings about Supergirl's arrival in season seven.

I'm not a big comic book reader so some of my knowledge may not be up there with some people's but isn't Supergirl suppose to come in a bit later in Clark's life?

Millar is the eveil mind behind Claxana, I have came to that conclution ¬¬

Millar: oh clexana my god clexana...YES clexana....Lana ohh Lana grrew as a character..Lana....wow Clexana Finally, that was the BIG part of season 6 for me
VoK: Justice But Justice DC heroes comics....
Millar: oh yeah..that too

Miles,

You insult us with your endless blathering about Lana and the Clexana relationship. How stupid do you honestly think we are? Lana Lang is sinking this show and has been sinking it for 6 seasons now. You've got one healthy relationship on SV, and that's Chlark...we had one good hero in Clark and an awesome villian in Lex, but instead, you chose to ignore the things that actually are right about this show. AlMiles under utilized an awesome cast and awesome characters with great chemistry in order to satisfy their own twisted vision of making Lana essential to the lives of characters who would be happier without her if given the chance. What a damn waste.

Yes Miles, you are right. It was brilliant to see Lionel worried about the zoners while Clark was in a incredibly stupid love triangle. Since from before the pilot was aired, WE KNOW that none of them end with the girl. Girl who more than prize is a punishment directly come from the hell. Every boyfriend she has, dies at least once.

In addition it's great that instead of focus the series in Clark, Lex, Lois and Jimmy's journeys forward their iconic destinies. Or Chloe and Lionel's ones that explain why they will be out of Superman's future. Let's focus on the wonderful arc "Lana's vagina". THAT'S WHAT EVERY SUPERMAN WANTS.

Even more, the best moment of the season was Clark telling Lex Luthor's wife that she should be his girl just before she get married with his nemesis. Or wait, the season finale where we had to stand 20 minutes of booooooooooooring angst, with future superman, the one that leads to other Superheroes because of his values and moral that the Kent taught him, kissing Lex Luthor's wife, with the ring in her hand hurting our poor eyes. In the same episode when Martha leaves Smallville. So, all the values and morals of future´s Superman is suposed to be known already.

Or should I be proud of Superman wanting to kill Titan because Lana get married (5X12 - Vegeance was useless aparently), or wanting to kill Lionel and Lex because Lana is sooooooooooo stupid that she only can make her choises with her ass, because her brain is empty.

Clexana ruined season 6, and almost ruined Tom Welling´s Clark forever. When the season finale ends I didn't want that THAT guy becomes my loved superman. He is a bad person right now, the same selfcentered crap kind of person that Lana is.That's the reason because of we hate her, that you think that must be loved.

But, do you like clexana?, great, all for you then, I'm leaving your tv show, I'm tired of watching Smallville dreaming about what it could be and it's not.

For one thing, I was very disappointed that the interviewer seemed to allow Millar to skate on some very important questions, like why he thought Clexana was a good thing for Clark Kent's character, or why he thought it was monumentally important to come up with a love triangle that just gave Lana Lang more to do, or why he seems far more interested in guest stars and spin-off's then the story of Clark Kent, and Lex Luthor? I mean, its great that people liked Ollie, and are looking forward to Kara, but what about Clark? Remember him? Remember that this is supposed to be his show? (not the Ollie/Clark show, thanks very much)

As for Mr Millar, does he even have a lick of interest in the story of Clark Kent any longer? Aside from how it serves Lana, and how it gives them opportunites to bring in new characters they could spin off? I don't hear anything in what he's saying that particularly addresses Clark's story. And involving him eyeballs deep in a loathsome, soap opera-esqe love triangle is NOT telling Clark Kent's story. If Millar has such a jones for that type of story, I'm sure General Hospital is hiring.

And there's a very specific reason that Kara comes into the life of Clark Kent/Superman at the point she does in the comics. But to bring her in now? I think its a recipe for disaster, and just smacks of "the network wants another hot babe, and we might be able to spin her off". There is no way that I believe she's here to further Clark's storyline. I have no doubt he'll be all about her, rather then vice versa.

I'm sorry Mr Welling signed for a S8. He's done a wonderful job, and seems to have poured a lot of heart and soul into creating this character. Neither Millar or Gough seem to give the guy an ounce of credit. But at this point, he's no longer doing himself, or his career, any good playing a character thats being marginalized on his own show.

It would certainly be lovely if Millar would remember the focus of this show. Superman, an icon of such importance to Americana, it's right up there with apple pie and baseball. I agree there should be some romance in young Superman's life, but as stated above, dumbing down and degrading his character and morals over Lana, who he will leave behind for Lois Lane (although not on this show) is a supreme insult to the Superman legacy and the actors and fans.

Why is young Clark Kent being portrayed as such an idiot? He continues to pine after a woman with no loyalty, few morals and little character while ignoring the woman who he continually turns to for help, support and affection. It's really an insult to the legend of Clark Kent and to men! Thank God women can at least look to Chloe and Martha as strong, dynamic and intelligent women on the show. The men are either stupid or psychotic! Great role models for all those impressionable young male fans!

This program could offer so much more in strong character development and good story lines. Please Gough/Millar, look at the legacy you are mucking around with and do right be it instead of the almighty dollar and your next project.

I love Clexana, it was the best in season 6, Thanks Al.

Season six was the best yet? Is Millar serious? When asked about the highlight of S6 does he answer the Phantom Zoners, or 33.1? No, he answers Lexana and the Lex/Lana/Clark triangle and how this gave Lana a reason for being on the show. The supposedly third most important character is just coming into her own in the sixth season? We have had Clark/Lana/Whitney, Clark/Lana/Chloe, Clark/Lana/Adam, Clark/Lana/Jason, and now Clark/Lana/Lex. Forget triangles, let’s go to tetrahedrons. Lana has had a purpose on the show - to illustrate for Clark why Chloe would be the far better choice by comparison.

Lexana started out promising, and could have been a good story line if Lana had stayed consistent through the season, supporting Lex and the 33.1 project like she did in “Static” then fully becoming a Luthor and working against Clark and Chloe. Conflicts could have been created instead of more angst and moping.

Even otherwise good episodes were ruined by scenes with Clark and Lana. The touching, the near-kisses and kisses between Clark and a MARRIED WOMAN were pathetic. Is this how Superman behaves? He isn’t 14 anymore Miles. What would Jonathan Kent say?

Would Clark have murdered Lionel if the Martian hadn’t arrived just then? What of Clark’s kidnapping and near sexual assault of Lana, his man-handling of Chloe, and his killing of the prototype? As a friend of mine said, by the end of season 6, the behaviors of the hero and the villain should not be indistinguishable.

Let’s not forget the stupid non-baby plotline, the non-sense Talon scene at the end of “Lab” and “Promise”, the worst episode of the series where every character changed direction from the previous episodes and where Lana, only after she finds out that Clark is the most powerful man on the planet, decides to call off the wedding. Apparently, had Clark not shown up to rescue Chloe and turned out to be just a college dropout and ex-high school quarterback, she would have had to settle for the lowly billionaire father of her child. How is it that Lana sees all of the Kryptonian’s abilities in “Arrival” then sees Clark with the same abilities, can’t figure out that Clark is an alien. She is a moron.

This show is supposed to be about Clark’s journey towards becoming a hero. He was smarter, more heroic, and far more likable in season 1. The writing was far better too.

season 6 was great but would have been better if there was more Clois! Just one forgotten passionned moment in 6.13 Crimson and bang! that's over? No! I can't stand this anymore!

Why Lois is in the show? She is not involved in the main story contrary to Lex or Lana!

That makes me angry! Erica Durance is a great actress and I love her chemistry with Tom! she deserves better!

About season 7, I don't like Laura Vandervoort aka Supergirl, since when Kryptonians come from Playboy? Fine didn't come from it, nor Bizarro! I prefer watching the show only for Tom, Erica, Justin, Michael, John, Allison, annette, sam jones III and john schneider (please make jonathan back!)

Clana no more!

Season 6 was the best? They have the best writers in their staff? Either he must not be looking at the ratings or he's in denial.
It's showing me that he hasn't learn from the mistakes from the 6th season. He must not be aware that Lana is the most hated character. I do find the first part of the interview to be amusing. The true highlight of the 6th season is, without a doubt, the Justice League and it was the highest rated episode of the season.
