Admittedly Alex O'Loughlin is playing a surgeon in Three Rivers and not a vampire, but since he was a member of the undead last season on the sorely-missed Moonlight, it seems appropriate that we preview his new series, coming this fall to CBS.

Moonlight star Alex O'Loughlin, who is currently in the midst of developing a new series for CBS, took some time to catch up with V&S about what's happening in his career. MOONLIGHT: AN INTERVIEW WITH RON KOSLOW

EXCLUSIVE: One of the most anticipated genre shows of the new season is CBS' Moonlight, which casts Alex O'Loughlin as vampire private eye Mick St. John, and Sophia Myles as Beth, the Internet reporter who Mick has kept an eye on throughout her life and who he is secretly in love with. This exclusive interview with series co-creator and executive producer Ron Koslow, which was conducted shortly after the series was given a pick-up by the network, provides some insight into its early genesis as well as the collaboration between Koslow and co-creator Trevor Munson. Koslow, as longtime fans are aware, is also the creator of the Beauty and the Beast television series, which starred Ron Perlman and Linda Hamilton.

Executive Producer David Greenwalt on "Moonlight"

In the new CBS series Moonlight, debuting this fall, Mick St. John (Alex O'Loughlin) is a private investigator who has truly seen it all after being bitten by his vampire bride on their wedding night 60 years ago. He now lives between two realities, fighting his adversaries among the undead while being in love with a mortal woman. St. John must cautiously balance these two lives before they clash, proving that life's gravest dangers are found in the moonlight.

The series is created by Ron Koslow and Trevor Munson, with Angel co-creator David Greenwalt serving as executive producer.
